Localizing holographic dualities with R-symmetry

This paper introduces a technique called equivariant localization that allows calculation of physical quantities in holographic duality, like central charges and operator dimensions, without full knowledge of the supergravity solutions. The key is that solutions with R-symmetry have special invariant forms. These impose flux quantization and let quantities be computed using topology and fixed point formulae. Examples are given for AdS5 x M6 and AdS3 x M8 solutions in 11D supergravity. Known results are reproduced and new off-shell central charges are obtained, even when explicit solutions are unknown.
