•

The paper studies extremal surfaces in 'glue-on' AdS geometries, which were proposed as holographic duals to T-bar-T deformed CFTs.

•

They define a 'glue-on HRT formula' given by the signed area of extremal surfaces anchored on a cutoff surface in the bulk.

•

This formula reproduces entanglement entropy of T-bar-T deformed CFTs on the sphere.

•

Studying Poincaré and global AdS reveals a minimum interval length below which extremal surfaces don't exist.

•

This minimum length leads to phase transitions for multiple intervals reminiscent of those in CFTs with a finite cutoff.

Extremal surfaces in glue-on AdS: A holographic study of T-bar-T deformed CFTs

This paper studies extremal surfaces in 'glue-on' AdS spacetimes, which consist of two AdS regions glued at their asymptotic boundary. These geometries were proposed as holographic duals to T-bar-T deformed CFTs. The authors define a 'glue-on HRT formula' given by the signed area of extremal surfaces anchored on a cutoff surface. They show this reproduces entanglement entropy of T-bar-T deformed CFTs on the sphere. Further study on Poincaré and global AdS reveals a minimum interval length, related to the deformation parameter, below which extremal surfaces cease to exist. This leads to interesting phase transitions for multiple intervals. The results support interpreting the glue-on HRT formula as related to entanglement in T-bar-T deformed CFTs.
