Geometric origin of kinetic terms in scale invariant gravity
This paper shows that constructing a generalized Weyl geometry that incorporates both a gauge field and scalar field, in a scale invariant gravitational theory, leads to natural emergence of kinetic terms for those fields. This provides a geometric interpretation. Also, with a cosmological constant, scale invariance becomes a duality relating fields.
